Complete and in good condition; some chips. The glaze, erased towards the edges, presents super fi cial cracks; in places it is covered with iridescent patina.
In the large production of Islamic pottery, ewers are an attested form, although rare and never really exploited by ceramists.
A vessel known as an epichysis, which shows a jug with a squat body, a high slender neck ending in a pinched beak-spout tilted sharply upward, and a high raised handle that slightly protrudes from the spout.
