Complete and in a remarkable state, except for a few strokes and small deformations; traces of corrosions and patina under the bottom.
This bronze cast Applique in the shape of the Bust of Herakles is slightly hollow in the lower part. Given its semicircular outline, it is thought to have been part of a bed decoration (fulcrum).
This bronze cast vessel was polished, while the handles and decorations were hammered and/or decorated in repoussé.
The cross, that can still be opened and closed, is composed of two bronze boxes with were molded and joined by hinges. A thick suspension ring enabled the encolpion to be worn as a pendant.
