Product Description

This beautiful gold bracelet is embellished by a circular bezel set with an agate.

It is composed of a thick, twisted gold wire and of a circular, trapezoidal bezel, which is remarkable both for its width and for its height: this bezel is attached to the bracelet by an elaborate hinge system. On one side, a fixed, triple hinge is crossed by an element with a flat end. On the other side, a pin system enables the opening-closing of the bracelet.

This piece of jewelry features the finest details, including the decoration of the pin, adorned with a sort of sphere composed of two circles surmounted by a thin, gold granulated bead.

The agate that adorns the bracelet is trunconical and entirely inserted in the bezel. The semi-precious stone shows various shades of colors (brown and white) that harmoniously follow the circular shape of the bezel.

Such bracelets were largely widespread in the Roman period, during the 2nd and 3rd century A.D., in various versions (ends of the bracelet, varied bezels, etc.), and made of gold or silver.
