Product Description

Islamic Earring made of gold, niello and garnet representing a Bird.

The pendant is a small masterpiece of Islamic jewelry: it combines several materials and crafting techniques common among Near Eastern goldsmiths of the time. It is cold-worked and features elements made using granulation, filigree, and coiled wire; others are decorated with cloisonné.
It consists of three distinct parts: the upper section is teardrop-shaped and adorned with a large central reed; this supports a stylized bird figurine, whose plumage is rendered in dark red and black enamel. Finally, the goldsmith added a small pyramid with a triangular base, suspended from a loop. Each element is embellished with additional pendants made of semiprecious stones (three garnets and five emeralds).

    Ancient Attic Greek Black-Figure Lekythos

    Ancient Attic Greek Black-Figure Lekythos

This lekythos is a tall vessel with a single handle attached to the broad shoulder terminating in a narrow neck and a rather large, semi-spherical mouth covered in black. The lower part of the body and a circular foot are also painted in black. The neck received a delicate decoration of tendrils of ivy with typical heard-shape leaves and stylized berries; it is separated from the shoulder by a band of tongues. The shoulder has a chain of seven, prominently painted palmettes.

    Twisted Bracelet

The bracelet, which, given its size, was most likely worn on the arm rather than the wrist, is made of a long, thick twisted bronze wire. Its ends, which are very close together, are flat and decorated with a series of incised vertical lines.

Near Eastern Bowl with the Figurine of a Bull

The bowl is perfectly turned. The ceramic is beige, but the surface is entirely covered with colored paint. The element that makes this piece a very special, perhaps unique object, is certainly the statuette of the quadruped.
