This solid bronze ring is composed of an almost circular loop and an elliptical cabochon. It is decorated with an incised figure that can be easily identified by his attributes as the god Hermes, associated with Mercury (Mercurius) by the Romans.
A beautiful Epichysis with a squat belly and a high, slender neck ending in a long beaked spout. This particular shape is referred to as an “epichysis”, and recalls an oinochoi with a low body reminiscent of a pyxis (box).
A circular vessel with a rounded profile, an inwardly rolled edge and a small disk-shaped, low foot. The medallion, with its brown background, is decorated in the “champlevé” technique. The animal represented in the tondo is a hare.
